The Oncology Program offers a wide range of treatment options from chemotherapy to radiation therapy. The Oncology Program is a multidisciplinary program. It is staffed by experienced professionals (nurses, social workers, case managers, physicians, chaplin, pharmacists, radiologists and pathologists) who are specially trained in the care of hematology and oncology patients and their families.
In-Patient care
Midwest Regional Medical Center has a 25-bed unit dedicated to oncology care. The oncology unit is staffed with trained nurses devoted to the specialized needs of the cancer patient and their families.
Outpatient care
The Center is a 6-bed/chair unit where patients can receive, blood transfusions, chemotherapy, injections, infusions, special procedures as well as education.
Social services
Case managers and social workers assist with obtaining equipment and other home care needs prior to discharge.
Pastoral care
Our full time chaplain provides an important role in our multidisciplinary team approach to oncology care.
Pharmacy
A specially trained pharmacist is available to answer questions and to assist the nursing staff. Pharmacy services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
