Hand Therapy

Since we use our hands all day long, we want to be assured that we will receive the best care available to recover from any injury, surgery or medical condition of the upper extremity.

The medical profession recognizes Certified Hand Therapists (CHT) as the experts for upper extremity rehabilitation. At the Midwest Rehab Medicine Center we have experts "on hand" to care for you. Himanshu Samantaray, OTR/L, CHT has been practicing Occupational Therapy since 1995, and specializing in Hand Therapy since 2002. Our clinicians work very closely with the referring physicians, physical therapists, and patients to achieve the highest outcome in the field of Hand Therapy.

CHT qualifications

CHT's must have a minimum of 5 years clinical experience with 4,000 hours or more in hand therapy and must successfully pass a comprehensive test of advanced knowledge in all areas of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. CHT's must recertify every 5 years by acquiring 2,000 hours of work experience, 80 hours of which may include research, teaching or continuing medical education.
